Melanie Lightbourn-Rowe is a native of Nassau, Bahamas and has worked in the field of education for over twenty-two years. She has served in the capacity of a classroom teacher, Instructional Coach, Leadership Coordinator, 8th Grade Sponsor, Senior Class Sponsor, ASB Coordinator, Parent and Community Liaison and Dean of Students. Ms. Lightbourn-Rowe earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Liberal Studies from The Master’s College in Newhall, California. She also received a Master of Education in Educational Administration and Leadership Policies from the University of Texas at Arlington.
Melanie received the California League of Middle Schools Educator of the Year Award in December 2012 for Region 8, and also received the organization’s title of State Educator of the Year in March 2013. She is currently pursuing a degree in School Leadership Policies from Cal State, Dominguez Hills where she plans to work closely with first-year educators. Melanie resides in the city of Santa Clarita with her two children, Sean and Corey.
